Dara Tabesh is a technology attorney with more than 14 years of experience handling a wide variety of legal matters, including:
- Litigation, including cases involving patent, copyright and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, violations of consumer protection statutes (i.e., class actions), insurance defense, general business litigation, personal injury claims, and various state law causes of action; assisted in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board; served as local counsel on various federal court actions
- Intellectual property enforcement, including infringement analysis, preparing cease and desist letters, negotiating prelitigation settlements, and preparing and evaluating settlement agreements
- Licensing, including preparation of tech transfer agreements, end-user license agreements, exclusive and nonexclusive licenses and evaluation agreements
- Preparation and prosecution of patent applications in a wide variety of technology areas, including cleantech (e.g., biomass waste processing, wind power, solar power, hydrodynamic energy, energy efficiency and water purification), food safety, biotechnology, medical devices, water cavitation, computer software, electrical devices, robotic systems and the mechanical arts
- Guiding and counseling companies on protection of their intellectual property using domestic and international utility patents, design patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets
- Preparation of contracts for businesses, including terms and conditions, privacy policies, confidentiality agreements, unilateral and bilateral nondisclosure agreements, employee and contractor intellectual property ownership agreements, separation agreements, etc.
Prior to joining ecotechlaw®, Dara was an associate in the litigation department of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Dara has also worked as a litigation associate at McDowall Cotter, APC.
Before becoming an attorney, Dara was a scientist at SUGEN, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing small molecule drugs directed at cancer, and an associate at GeneScreen, a DNA-testing laboratory focused on forensics and paternity.
